Our family Christmas
We love our gatherings. The two of us alternate turns to host all the special occasions throughout the year, we have done this since we met many years ago and we found it definitely helped with missing family in South Africa-especially at Easter and Christmas time. We love organising them just as much as we love spending time together.
Planning and decorating has become slightly more difficult with the addition of all our children, but we always make them work and over the years they have become a lot more kid-friendly and minimal-just the way we like it.
This year we have brain stormed together and Nat has opened up her beautiful home as the venue.
We have chosen a natural déco palette, winter whites & greenery being our focal point. We have chosen dishes from our native country, South Africa. Foods we crave and miss living abroad that bring a sense of comfort and security. We have also chosen recipes that are easy to prepare, follow & cook-they are not particularly traditional to a Christmas spread, but they bring content & satisfaction-physically & emotionally.
The best dessert on earth, Malva pudding. Very indulgent, but worth every calorie :)
